Our mission is to create, shape, and restore the landscape and urban environments for the sustainable continuation of life. With every project, we aim to live in balance with nature and preserve vital resources for future generations.
OUR WHY?
As a global community, we are facing an existential crisis caused by global warming and carbon dioxide emissions, the urban heat island effect, ozone layer depletion, rapid extinction of wildlife species and decreasing biodiversity, pollution of the world ocean by microplastic and heavy metals, Arctic ice melting, and the projected increase of world water levels. New viruses, bacteria, and diseases threaten human life.

Our BIG GOAL is to plant 10 million trees around the world.
But we cannot achieve our goal alone.

OUR STORY - STATEMENT
As a studio, we approach landscape design, urban architecture, and garden design in our own way. We understand the impact of our work can have on the earth and the life surrounding our projects. That’s why we tailor our projects to take this impact into account. Our main principles based on work of our Principal Iurii Lotonenko - Designing Landscapes as Evolutionary Systems.
We are a start-up that was initially established in San Diego, California, and expanding our presence globally. So far, our holistic ideas on landscape development have been translated into a wide range of projects across the globe. From home gardens to large-scale city park projects, institutional undertakings, to company developments - we are equally committed to creating the intended outcome for our clients, no matter their environment, budget, or project vision.
At LASD, we know that humans are an intrinsic part of nature, and with that, we have a responsibility to protect and sustain our environment - even when we work to alter it. With all that we do, it is up to us to destroy life or create it in harmony with our project vision.
We created our studio to combine nature with art innovatively as landscaping is an art form, an expression of beauty, and a form of care for our surroundings. We transform areas with hidden beauty into a landscape that appeals to not only your vision but also to all your senses.
Depending on the project, we work to integrate different architectural styles and representations. For example, so far, we have curated projects that harmoniously combine baroque, Spanish revival, or postmodernism architectural styles. No matter your vision, we are always open to new design styles and ideas. To us, when it comes to our surroundings, our universal landscape - everything is possible.
As our studio grows from strength to strength, we are consistently looking for further collaborations with individuals and companies that share our view and mindset, combined with how we can sustain and transform such values.

OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
For centuries, we used natural resources recklessly, polluting the environment, and didn’t really think about the future of our planet. However, today, we face a global existential crisis. Also, it is not something that can only be seen in books in libraries. Such a way of living altered the virginity of our planet. We as a society lived separately from nature for many centuries.
At LASD Studio, we believe humans are part of nature. We must coexist in harmony with our planet Earth, in a balance with nature. It is up to us to destroy life on this planet or create life by living in harmony.

A generation of landscape architects, environmental designers, and ecologists have come together to create working principles that aim to develop sustainable life on planet Earth.
Design with nature: This principle was first described by Ian McHarg and has lately become recognized as key for ecological sustainability.
Evolutionary systems: Nature is a constantly evolving, never-static ecological system with many interconnected processes.
Regeneration and recovery of nature: We try to understand nature's natural ecological processes and how to help it recover from the damage caused by humanity
